Didactic programs for schools. Capitoline Museums - In-depth study: Romulus and the foundation of Rome
Educational visit
A guided tour on a widely represented topic in the permanent collection of the Capitoline Museums, as in the frescoes of the Cavalier D'Arpino in the Hall of the Horatii and Curiatii in the Conservators' Apartment.
The cycle of frescoes illustrates episodes from the history of Rome narrated by the historian Livy. The scenes represent a series of tapestries divided, in the long sides, with festoons of fruit and flowers, trophies and lustral vases. At the base of the walls there is a frieze of fake marble by Cesare Rossetti with monochrome medallions bearing historical episodes.
